Bang Bang Salmon Bites in the Airfryer or Oven
Most of these ingredients can be found at your local grocery store or an Asian grocery store. Amazon links provided.
- 1 1/2 lbs salmon filets, Skin off and cut into bite size chunks, approximately 1.5" x 1.5"
- 1 Tbsp quality EVOO such as Madhava, get it here
1 tsp garlic powder - 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper, use 1/4 tsp if you like it spicier
- 1/2 tsp fine ground white pepper divided, get it here
- 1/2 tsp table salt
- 1/2 tsp coarse ground black pepper such as McCormicks, get it here
- 1/2 cup real mayonnaise such as Hellman's
- 1/4 cup sweet Thai chili sauce such as Thai Kitchen, get it here
- 1 Tbsp sriracha, get it here
- 1 Tbsp honey or hot honey if you like things spicier, get it here
- 1 Tbsp fresh squeezed lime juice
- 1 bunch green onions, sliced
- Toasted sesame seeds for serving, get it here
- Lime salt for serving such as Hepp's Salt Co., get it here
- 2 limes cut into wedges for serving
Preheat oven to 400 or set airfryer to 400.
Make bang bang sauce:
In a bowl whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet thai chili sauce, Siracha, honey, lime juice and white pepper. Set aside.
Pat salmon dry. Cut salmon into bite size pieces. Approximately 1.5” x 1.5”
In a large bowl whisk together olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, chili powder, cayenne, white pepper, salt and black pepper.
Add salmon pieces to bowl with mixture and toss to coat.
Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper. arrange salmon on baking sheet and bake for approx. 15 minutes ( give or take) or until done.
Or
Place parchment paper liner in basket of air fryer if using, arrange salmon in a single layer in basket. Air fry for 10 minutes at 400 shaking and/or turning salmon half way through. Work in batches until salmon is done.
Plate salmon. Drizzle bang bang sauce over salmon. Sprinkle with sesame seeds, green onions, a pinch of lime salt and a squeeze of fresh lime.
