Hawaiian Pork and Sweet Garlicky Noodles
1 Teriyaki marinated pork tenderloin. I got mine at ALDI
Hawaiian rib rub, John Henry's brand, get it here
2 packages ramen noodles. You can use pork, beef or roast beef flavor, get it here
4 Tbsp butter
1 Tbsp toasted sesame oil, get it here
2 1/2 Tbsp light brown sugar
2 tsp soy sauce, La Choy brand or equivalent
1/2 Tbsp fish sauce
1 1/2 Tbsp oyster sauce
1 bunch green onions, sliced separate whites and greens
4 tsp minced garlic, about 4-6 cloves fresh garlic or you can use jarred minced garlic
Coarse ground black pepper to taste
Cilantro, roughly chopped for serving
Red pepper flakes for serving
Toasted sesame seeds for serving, get them here
1 lime, quartered for serving
Preheat oven to 375 F.
Season pork tenderloin generously all over with the Hawaiian rub seasoning. Bake at 375 until done, approximately 45 minutes.
While pork bakes, wash and prep green onions, separating white parts from green. Chop cilantro, garlic and quarter limes. Measure out other ingredients.
Fill a large pan with sides with water. Add the 2 flavor seasoning packets from the ramen packs and whisk to incorporate. (You are only using the flavor packets to boil the noodles in to add a bit of flavor.) Bring the water to a boil and add the ramen noodles. Cook ramen noodles like normal and drain when they are done. Do not over cook. Set aside.
In the same pan used to cook the noodles, add the 4 Tbsp of butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and the white parts of the sliced green onion. Saute for about 2 minutes until just fragrant.
Turn heat down to low. Stir in the sesame oil, light brown sugar, soy sauce, fish sauce, and oyster sauce. Whisk everything together and simmer for about 3-4 minutes. Add the cooked ramen noodles and toss to coat. Season with coarse ground black pepper to taste.
When pork is done, let it rest for 5 minutes. Slice pork into 1- 1.5" slices.
Plate the noodles, place sliced pork on top of noodles. Sprinkle some red pepper flakes and sesame seeds to taste all over dish. Add some chopped cilantro and green parts of the the green onions. Serve with a slice of lime for squeezing.
