Margherita Sauce for Pizza or Pasta





Ingredients:

  • 1 15 oz can of crushed tomatoes
  • 2 very large garlic cloves pressed or minced
  • 2 Tbsp high quality olive oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 handful of fresh basil leaves roughly torn ( about 10 leaves)
  • 1/4 tsp coarse ground black pepper

Instructions:

Add olive oil and garlic to pot over medium heat. Sautée garlic 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Add all other ingredients. Whisk until combined. Simmer for 20 minutes, whisking occasionally.

Makes sauce for  1 12”-16” pizza or 8 oz of pasta.

If you have extra serve on the side.

Tip: drizzle your topped pizza with extra olive oil before baking or cooking.
